A friend last year was talking about podcasts at a party and she was telling me how great they are - I had never listened to podcasts before or even explored what they have to offer. Fast forward to 2017 and I really enjoy listening to podcasts while I am going about my day or when I feel like I need some direction. I wanted to share with you four of my favourite podcasts that discuss a variety of things from art, women's issues, news, finances and enlightening conversations about life.
Personally I think Honor Eastly's podcast is one of the best on iTunes at the moment. In her own words, "It's about art, money and how to combine those things. The show is basically an excuse for me to ask successful artists really nosy questions about their financial situation, and record the conversation." The main reasons I enjoy this podcast is how naturally the conversation flows between her and the artist but also the practical advice you receive from each conversation. Her podcast is a must have for all artists who want to improve their finances!
As someone who didn't go to art school I am always looking for ways to educate myself about the art world and art history. I also love MoMA as a museum and always try to visit when I am in New York. This podcast is a great way to familiarise yourself with different artists and their views, art styles and history.
I think she has hit the nail on the head with this description, so we will just use hers: "Awaken, discover and connect to the deeper meaning of the world around you with SuperSoul. Hear Oprah’s personal selection of her interviews with thought-leaders, best-selling authors, spiritual luminaries, as well as health and wellness experts. All designed to light you up, guide you through life’s big questions and help bring you one step closer to your best self." Amazing, as if you wouldn't want to listen to this!
I really enjoy listening to Mamamia Out Loud. You can guarantee that I sit at home every Wednesday around 6:30pm waiting for this to be uploaded, it's a bona fide ritual now. The podcast is hosted by Holly Wainwright (middle), Mia Freedman (Right) and Jessie Stephens (left). In short, the podcast is like listening to a group of girlfriends discussing and debating over topics like the latest news, womens issues and pop culture. These ladies effortless display their intelligence, even if they don't always agree on what they are discussing.
I hope you enjoy the podcasts! xx
