This was the first collage canvas I made since 2017. It was the beginning of the pandemic and I felt so disconnected from everyone. A few months before COVID, I was planning to go on a journey overseas after having four years in Australia working on my mental health. To have those opportunities ripped away from me was devastating. I was longing for connection, for love, for true friendships. I felt alone, but I was hopeful that the pandemic would be over quickly – it wasn’t, at least in Australia.
